Back Chat Brass
In their third year at the festival, Back Chat Brass bring a brassy twist on classic tunes combined with their electrifying showmanship to our events cross Durham. They will literally drag you out of your seat to party.
Describing themselves as the UK’s original rock and roll oompah band, Oompah Brass bring a repertoire of Bavarian style with a modern twist drawn from the likes of AC/DC, Queen, Bon Jovi, Led Zeppelin, Taylor Swift and Katy Perry to name just a few!
Artistas Del Gremio
Artistas Del Gremio, bring the Spanish street festival atmosphere to BRASS with their lively performance and music ranging from classical to pop this band are guaranteed to get the audience on their feet!
Louisiana Funky Butts Brass Band
Travelling to BRASS from Germany with their six horns and two drummers, the Louisiana Funky Butts play cheekily through all genre boundaries from Afrobeats, Latin Grooves, French Pop, Southern Rock, Cajun, club sounds and traditional 2nd-line jazz.
We were honoured to give Breakout Brass, an all-female street band, their first big break at the festival last year and are pleased to be welcoming them back for 2019 with their mix of familiar tunes with a New Orleans style.
Bring Your Own Brass
New to BRASS for 2019, Bring Your Own Brass (BYOB) are an 11-piece brass band who have been tearing up festival stages with their original mix of hip hop beats, heavy riffs and dance floor grooves. They are a live band not to be missed!
Reel Brass is taking ceilidh music to the streets with an exciting mix of traditional ceilidh tunes with pumping n’orleans brass arrangements. With a sousaphone bass line, guitar, accordion, pipes and some upfront horns – expect to get up close and personal as you fly round the dance floor. They will teach you the moves and provide the grooves with all ceilidh dances fully called, and all tunes seriously funky.
